As for this project, it took me quite out of my comfort zone to not only use generative ai but also glitch the generated images in ways that had a very delicate balance. A big thing about this project i struggled with during this project was letting that control go when it came to generating images, while i believe AI could become a useful tool , i personally don’t feel to comfortable with the generative image side of it quite yet but at least i can say for certain now that i’ve at least tried it! Trying again and again to glitch the files more as i tried also to not completely break it beyond repair was quite difficult yet fun! I enjoyed the glitch via text and audacity alot and feel that it helped me transform the images we did generate in ways that I felt were more unique. I think the most fun part of this project was putting everything together however. From multiple images that i had generated , i cut them into several pieces to make them fit into a cat frame that i drew for them to create an entirely new image, i used many of our learned skills of our labs as well like our datamosh and infinite loop and combined them all in one piece with after effects and cap cut to create a final glitchy video reminiscent of early 2000’s internet cat video culture and aesthetics. Overall, i did still really enjoy this project as it did show me we can distort ai images enough on our own to create new things and use the glitch to our advantage!
