As for this 3d Modeling project, i want to create three different tik tok filters that are inspired by my Characters. The first and most complex i believe will be a small 3d model that will make into a little shoulder buddy who sits on your shoulder and looks around or maybe does a little dance. I will be using my Character Miru for this, the model design will be inspired by the sonic rush models for the ds game as i want to go for a more retro sharp style to challenge myself and change it from my usual rounded style. For my other two filters i want to do small wings head accessories, three sets of small white angel wings placed where the ears would be with pink bows holding them together and them floating slowly there while tracking the face, for the third filter id like to do something similar but with bat/devil wings and red bows instead, i will try and make these wings more lively than the angel wings if possible or perhaps add some little horns to it as well! These two filters are going to be based of some of my characters for my original project called “lady lovette”. Besides creating the 3d wearles for this project, i aim to make the colors/filter effects shift depending on the vibe im going for for the filter, for example, i may go vibrant with the first, pastel with the second, and muted/dark or gothic for the third!
- Project #1 Final Statment
As for this project, it took me quite out of my comfort zone to not only use generative ai but also glitch the generated images in ways that had a very delicate balance. A big thing about this project i struggled with during this project was letting that control go when it came to generating images, while i believe AI could become a useful tool , i personally don’t feel to comfortable with the generative image side of it quite yet but at least i can say for certain now that i’ve at least tried it! Trying again and again to glitch the files more as i tried also to not completely break it beyond repair was quite difficult yet fun! I enjoyed the glitch via text and audacity alot and feel that it helped me transform the images we did generate in ways that I felt were more unique. I think the most fun part of this project was putting everything together however. From multiple images that i had generated , i cut them into several pieces to make them fit into a cat frame that i drew for them to create an entirely new image, i used many of our learned skills of our labs as well like our datamosh and infinite loop and combined them all in one piece with after effects and cap cut to create a final glitchy video reminiscent of early 2000’s internet cat video culture and aesthetics. Overall, i did still really enjoy this project as it did show me we can distort ai images enough on our own to create new things and use the glitch to our advantage!
- Brainstorm Blog#1!!+Generation Lab
This upcoming AI generation/glitch project has been an interesting topic for me to take on, to be entirely frank, I am not a fan of generative AI use but I also find it interesting to find out how we can repeatedly glitch and distort images and video to the point of nearly breaking to create amazing and visually interesting effects. I hope to be able to edit and distort the images i do generate throughout this project enough create something i consider more original. The Labs we have done so far to distort said images have been really fun and i feel i am attaining a good grasp of how i want to put all of them together for my final Glitch project! To expand a bit on my thoughts on AI, here's a bit more reasoning as to why is am not the biggest fan of it. Now, I’m not opposed to AI as a whole, I actually do believe that it has the potential to become a valuable tool, and in some cases, it very much is! (specifically in the medical field) I personally see art as something that is inherently human-made, whether it be painting, digital art, collage, photography, etc. Art is subjective at the end of the day, it is not a matter of effort, time, or how “bad” or “good” it is, it is about what it evokes in someone and the expression of the artist. All art is also derivative so by originality, I don't mean to create something that's never been done before because that is nearly impossible. All art takes inspirations and elements from other things and often combines them to create something new, it's just that to me, the human aspect of it is what makes it art because even if we are using tools such as cameras, or digital programs to draw and edit, or make collages out of already previously existing media and cut them out to put them all together, there is still a person behind it specifically choosing and framing the artwork which makes them valid mediums of art. Another thing is the negative impact it has on our environment and ethics, AI not only takes an enormous amount of energy to generate things but also uses up a lot of water to cool down their servers which could go to more important things. As for ethics, there is almost zero regulation on AI and it has led to a mass spread of misinformation, in which people can easily create exploitative material of others, have their data (including sensitive information) scraped from websites for AI training use, and enables corporations to cut corners and replace some workers with AI simply to save a bit more on products/services as the main goals of corporations is to profit, even at the expense of their employees and consumers. AI to me is a powerful set of algorithmic technology, but in its current form, I believe that its efforts to create art are just inauthentic and come off as soulless cash grabs.

- (OLD) Zine + Artist statement
The gallery above contains my zine project regarding queer identity and dissociation. At the beginning of this project I was indecisive about going through with this idea since not only can it be very nuanced but it is a topic very personal to my own experiences and struggles with finding my identity. I then got the idea to relate it back to how outside influence causes that dissociation through terms of religion and cis-heteronormativity. The internalization of these ideals at a young age heavily affected how I would present myself through different stages of my life, so much so that I seemed to try to fit the role of serval different people as I tried to find some way I could be accepted as queer while also dealing with that internalized homophobia and transphobi a. In each illustration, every stage of myself is connected and show the progression of how others perceived me over the years but are also their own characters, representing their own unique struggle. Throughout, there is a "watcher" who makes it harder for the stages to accept themselves due to the constant judgement, demonization and control they have over them. Once the Fifth stage manages to leave home, they finally give themselves the chance to really question themselves about if they really fit into the labels the others tried previously or if they also forced themselves into boxes that didn't fit them, just to make their queerness more palatable to others. Once this is done, it finally leas up to the recent and present changes where I am allowing myself to be honest and try to comfort, and be the person my youngest self wishes they had to guide and support them. The embrace ending as one for the self as all of those past stages are still something I feel are with me and I've forgiven them for what they did. I accept all of them despite their flaws and the pain that came with them because they also deserved a chance to heal from all that trauma . As personal as that is to me, I think the best thing about this is that with the minimal wordings present and the reliance on showing and symbolism, rather than fully spelling it out, can still help others connect to the narrative as it can be applied to any kind of queer experience struggles, and show how hard it can be to become you own person.
