Project #2 Final Statment

This project was particularly difficult for me but im glad I took the route I did. For this project I created a character design from scratch and tried to emulate a 3rd modeling style similar to that of sonic R models while also trying to stay true to my own style. I created her based off a drawing I initially made for her in said style and modeled around it as reference which greatly helped me figure out my proportions! I used many techniques from both inside and outside of class from out independent study time to explore blender further and take steps into teaching my self how to better model complex things such as hair. The creation of my characters skins was also particularly difficult but also interesting as I had unrwrap all of my model on a 2d flat plane and create the skins of that flattened surface accordingly in order to properly display once the skins were applied and it took quite abit of trial and errror to line up the skins how I’d wanted. Overall this project was a great learning experience, if the was one thing I could change though it’d be possibly scaling back on the detail of the design because it did indeed eat up the time I would have used inputing my project in TikTok to create a filter!
